Digital Sequencers! 
Sequencers have been the backbone of electronic music since its inception. With the advent of MIDI in the 80s, sequencers finally broke out of the usual 8 or 16-note limitation of analog sequencers. Sequencers could be chained together and used during live performances. The pattern for this song, created on the Yamaha QX7 2-track digital MIDI sequencer, drove its creation.

Digital Drum Machines!
The Roland TR-505 rhythm composer was the staple of many of my songs and demos during the 80s, including the original recording of this song.

4-Track Recorder
The entire original song was then recorded on the TEAC TASCAM Porta-One 4-track portable studio. This was a 4-track recorder that recorded on cassette tapes. It was amazing.
