I have a folder of 'ideas'. These are not completed songs, but they are 'interesting musical bits' that I recorded to expand on later. A cool chord progression, interesting rhythm, etc.
There was a particular classical arpeggio concept that I created in Dec 2015. It was really beautiful and melodic. Powerful. Four minutes of arpeggios with classical music chord changes.
Eleven years later, I wanted to see what I could do with it. I also added in a pipe organ...just for good measure.
I then chose another of my friend Riina's poems, "Thor's Hammer", from her book of poetry, Spirit Verses, as an experiment.
Again, the poem became perfect lyrics.
It came out spectacularly.
This could easily turn into a Broadway musical production.
Hint, hint...

Havoc and Mayhem
Crumbling of the old
Thor’s hammer
Stating the obvious
Old must go
To build the new
Valkyries dancing
Lighting up the hearts
Northern lights
Like a painting
Sending greetings from
The underworld
And the tree
Tall and handsome

Vortex of change
Emerald leaves
Waking up the bears
Owls of the night
