Song Backstory:

I took one of my jazz piano compositions from December 2015 and transformed it into a mostly a cappella piece. It's quite different from the original. I grew up listening to records of The Swingle Singers and Manhattan Transfer. There is something special about music written for vocal ensembles.

Side Note:
Manhattan Transfer's rendition of "Route 66" gave me an A++ and perfect on my final exam in my senior year of high school. I loved the song and had memorized all of the Route 66 cities mentioned in the song. The test question was "Name three cities on Route 66." I wrote ALL twelve of them out in order as the song was playing in my head. The teacher was blown away, and then I told him about the song. He loved the song too. Music wins.
