In 1983, I discovered the jazz fusion music of Jeff Lorber, and it completely captivated me.

 

The colorations of the chords, the expressiveness of the melodies, and the intricate brilliance of the arrangements were astounding.

 

This song is crafted in that style. It was composed in June 2019.

 

Note: The solo instrument featured is an EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument). It is a highly expressive, woodwind-like synthesizer that I have loved since I first heard it in the mid-80s.

 

If I had to go back and do 'Band' in Intermediate School again, I would have chosen the soprano saxophone instead of clarinet...
