In 2003, I met a wonderful lady who was a creative head on Alexander Payne's film Sideways, which takes place in the wine country of California.

Every weekend, during the principal filming, I would drive up the California coast to the Santa Ynez Valley to see her.

We spent a lot of time together at wineries, boutique bistros, [the Chumash Casino!], and driving around, exploring the surrounding countryside and coastline.

The entire experience was one I will always cherish. That was a time when life was good, indeed.
